Brian Ferguson

Brian Ferguson, DO, MPH, transitioned into medicine from a background in astrophysics (authoring the data analysis pipeline behind the Hubble Legacy Archive in 2011).  In 2012 he was invited into the Pathways of Distinction Program in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), culminating with a masters thesis study in Early Childhood Development targeting improving reading among impoverished populations of Iowa.  Dr. Ferguson is a graduate of the University of Louisville Emergency Medicine Residency Program and was Chief Resident in 2017.  Competing in Level 10 gymnastics in multiple events throughout medical school, Dr. Ferguson’s personal and academic interests continue to prioritize composite health, exercise, nutrition, strength, and cognitive vitality. Brian is currently a practicing ER physician working as an assistant medical director with SCP. Additionally, Dr. Ferguson is Gratis Faculty of the University of Louisville Department of Emergency Medicine and holds an Editor in Chief position over the Journal of Wellness. Regarding his military service, Dr. Ferguson (Maj) is the current Medical Director of the Special Operations Center for Medical Integration & Development, arriving here after a background in medical direction of elite pararescue and tactical critical care transport. Brian is married with 3 children, and enjoys the outdoors, piano, writing, literature, and spending time with his three wild boys.
